Huh. See, I got that it was a bunch of scars right away--specifically, I was thinking burn scars. But I also haven't seen much in the way of extensive animal scarring on real animals, so what do I know...
Oh, make no mistake, I appreciate the comments coming from your greater expertise. I was just making an observation. I can see why the scarring looks like wood, now that you've mentioned it, and between the two of us, I'd go with your opinion over mine.
I think maybe the reason they don't look "scar-y" is because animal scarring looks different than human scaring? Like, with a black panther the skin would actually appear lumpy and black, now that I think about it, if it was fresh. And anything with fur grown over the top would appear white, because hair over scars loses it's pigment.
oof, is your teacher like, a meanie? Meanie teachers always make me feel self conscious.
So today when I was at work I looked specifically at dog scars, and the scarring depends on the skin tone I discovered! Dogs with light skin will have pink and bumpy scars while dogs with dark complexions have dark bumpy scar tissue. So, I'm thinking for a panther it would be the black kind.
I guess in some people's eyes? He's nice but he's not afraid to tell you what he thinks of your drawing and honestly I appreciate it! I aint gettin' nowhere if people just tell me "it's good!" all the time.
Oh my gosh you're a saint. I can't believe you did that just for me ahah. Thank you!
Another way to say that would be "I may look cute and fluffy, but I earned all of my scars so please stick your hand in here and see what happens." <---- my first thoughts when I saw this (Don't mind me I'm just a derp who likes kitties )
Wow!! The lineart and shading and colors on this one is just incredible. Your sense of anatomy is also really strong! <3 <3 as for the critique goes, there are a few technical issues with the lighting - those being that shadows don't overlay one another, and the shadows of the bar would warp around the shape of the figure, if that makes sense! I hope this helped. c:
